Wilson Land is a filmmaker and drone operator based in the Triangle, NC.
His passion for filmmaking and drones developed while growing up in Winston-Salem and during his time at Randolph Community College while studying analog photography. He later completed a Certificate in Documentary Arts at Duke University’s Center for Documentary Studies in 2017. While attending CDS he was contracted by NC State Parks & Recreation to document the aftermath of the forest fires that took place in South Mountain and Chimney Rock.
Wilson specializes in drone cinematography—working feature documentaries, short narratives and commercials. His credits include the Field of Vision short Crooked Lines (2018) and Sundance Award-winner Always in Season (2019).
